Jason Kenechukwu Onugha, MD, MPH

Psychiatrist and Co-Founder | Woven Clinics

Jason Onugha, MD, MPH, is a compassionate psychiatrist with a profound commitment to serving underserved populations and advancing public health initiatives. He earned his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014, followed by an MD-MPH from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in 2020. He completed his Psychiatry residency at Northwestern University in 2024, where he received specialized training in Collaborative Care Models (CoCM), a testament to his dedication to integrated, population-level mental health care.

Jason’s journey in public health began in medical school, where, under the mentorship of Hansel Tookes, MD, MPH, he co-founded a student-run clinic providing essential care for people who inject drugs. This initiative, coupled with his advocacy for the Infectious Disease Elimination Act in Florida, ignited his passion for psychiatry and highlighted the critical importance of harm reduction in improving community health outcomes.

With a unique blend of psychiatric expertise, medical education, and a deep understanding of population health, Jason brings a comprehensive skill set to his role as a psychiatric consultant. His experience in clinic design and implementation, along with his leadership and communication abilities, positions him as an ideal fit for the Eastern Arkansas Family Health Center (EAFHC). Jason is eager to bring his experience and dedication to EAFHC, collaborating alongside his business partners Cyril Appiagyei, MD, and Nolan Broussard, MD, MPH to deliver innovative, compassionate care to those who need it most.
